Jazz legends in TESTBED1

Next week we have two jazz inspired events that are not to be missed.

CHANGE OF SIGNATURE by ELEONORE PIRONNEAU 8th May 6-9pm

TESTBED1 is pleased to present a multi media installation by the french artist Eleonore Pironneau, whose paintings have inspired well known musicians to create musical pieces from them: ten musical compositions in response to ten pictorial compositions by the artist. Musicians include legends such as Tony Remy and Lola Perrin, amongst others.

The exhibition opens on Wednesday 8th May 6-9pm and will run until Sunday 12th May every day 11am-6pm. Free entry.

CLEVELAND WATKISS 10th May 7pm

On Friday we see the return of the excellent Cleveland Watkiss to TESTBED1 with his Stardust Choir. This will be an exciting vocal improvisation concert that uses the atmosphere of TESTBED1 and the interactivity of the audience to present a performance that can only be described as an amazing vocal experience. Also featuring is the premier of world acclaimed jazz composer Julian Joseph with his remarkable compostition for ‘the Stardust Jazz Improvising Choir’. This concert has been organised by the World Heartbeat Music Academy – a wonderful charity based in Wandsworth. Primarily for children, but also for adults, the academy teaches music from all over the world and provides disadvantaged youth with instruments and tuition. The event is free but all donations will go to the World Heartbeat Academy.
