Last week the lovely ladies (and a man or two!) from the Royal Academy came to the Doodle Bar for a day of inspiring talks around the theme of words and stories, delicious Street Kitchen lunch, drinks and doodles!
They heard thought provoking talks by Alan Brookes from The Writer, from Sunday Times journalist Camilla Long, Ben Payne from the Ministry of Stories and to round up the day artist and architect Will Alsop OBE RA held court out on the Doodle Beach. Will was the architect who designed the Doodle Bar and was the creator of TESTBED1, our space with ‘no agenda’.
This summer the Doodle Bar is collaborating with various illustrators at our Dockside Diner series of pop-up lunches on The Beach. Customers will be able to watch them in action whilst enjoying their lunch and listening to live music and will be able to make an offer on final pieces or commission bespoke works. Keep an eye on our blog and social media pages for future featured artists!
Our illustrator this week is
Lorenzo was one of the artists doing live illustration at our last Dockside Diner Louisiana Crayfish Boil lunch. Whilst everyone was getting stuck in – enjoying an authentic Deep South feast, live Blues and Cajun music and crayfish racing, Lorenzo – along with other illustrators – was doodling away.
