The Doodle Bar is a bar and events space where people have the freedom to enjoy a good scribble, play a game of ping pong, peruse the market and enjoy some street food. 

  • Screenprinting Workshop

    Learn to screen print with creative arts teacher Nicole Line. In this hands on class you will be shown practical ways to implement your ideas by exploring the building of colour onto sample prints and pushing boundaries within your designs. The workshop is aimed at beginners through to experienced printers. Nicole will guide you through each process, resulting in a final print onto a bag and items of clothing. 

  • Line Art as an Expression Workshop

    Line Art as an Expression is a workshop which will show you ways of using lines as a way to convery your feelings. In the 2 hour workshop, you will begin by choosing a paragraph from a choice of books that inspires you, and then illustrator Ceyan Insel will show you how to make your imagination come to life with lines.

  • TEKTRIP VR Night

    In a Doodle Bar first, play and doodle in Virtual Reality! Create amazing 3D digital sculptures using Google's TiltBrush or blast robots in Space Pirate Trainer. Friends can watch on the big screen and marvel at your creations or cheer you on as you compete for the highest score. Free entry. TiltBrush: £10 per 10 mins Space Pirate Trainer; £5 per attempt.

  • Deep Space Moolog

    Multi media installation which drws together vintage sci-fi, Neolithic cave drawings and the possibility of Time Travel. Kirsty E Smith brings her installation DeepSpaceMoolog to the back arches (AKA TESTBED1). Come along to the opening event on 4th May 6-9pm (it's also Kirsty's birthday!) The exhibition will run until Sunday 7th May. Free entry.

  • The Body Physical: Life Drawing

    London Drawing & the Life Drawing Gymnasia present: The Body Physical - a very special drawing event set against the dark and dramatic tunnels behind the bar. Expect some very physical, powerful poses from the Gymnasia in an evening of high drama and highly charged life drawing. The Drawing Theatre is supported by Cowling & Wilcox. 7-9.30pm £25 All basic materials included. 

  • Metallic Printing Workshop

    Come and learn metallic foiling in this fun and friendly workshop run by Nicole Line. She will provide the heat press which heats up to 140 degrees. Transform fabric and paper items by transferring metallic foil unto them with the heat press. Book your place here.

  • Will Alsop: How Architects Rebuilt Britain

    RIBA Stirling Prize Winner and acclaimed architect, Prof. Will Alsop, will lead a public talk and debate focusing on the role of architects and architectural departments within Local Council Authorities in post-war Britain. He will consider what freedoms architects were given and how those freedoms changed.

    The event is part of Cardboard Citizens' Home Truths Festival of Heritage Events. Made possible with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

  • Wood Engraving Workshop

    Learn to engrave wood blocks and create beautiful prints with them, with creative arts teacher Nicole Line. Materials will be provided. Click here for tickets and more info. 

  • Drink & Draw

    Unleash the artist within, learn a thing or two about drawing and have a few drinks with like-minded scribblers on Frui's fun and inspiring sketching social. Ideal for beginners, but all levels welcome. Pencils, rubbers and paper all supplied!

  • Batik workshop

    Explore the art of Batik - an ancient textile technique where hot wax is applied to fabric using a tool called a tjanting. Coloured dyes are then painted onto the fabric and the lines of wax resist the colour, creating striking designs. Artist Rhian Sutcliffe will guide you through the process explaining ancient and contemporary techniques.
